Cannot bring the program out of stealth mode (Smart Pc Keylogger)
There are a few different things that could cause this: -Sometimes on a laptop you have to press the Function (Fn or Func) key in order to press F5. If you see F5 on the same key as the 5 key then this is probably the case. Try Function + CTRL + F5 instead. -It is possible to assign a different key than CTRL + F5. If you have changed the key make sure you are pressing the right combination. On a laptop try holding down the Function (Fn or Func) key in addition to your chosen key combination. -Verify that the program is actually running. Open the task manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete or click Start > Run > type "taskmgr" and press OK. The program will never show up in the Programs list, but the executable will show up in the processes list. The executable is usually named after the first letter of each word in the program name. For example our demo "Your Keylogger Program Name" would be "YKPN.exe". You can also see what the program executable is by navigating to the directory you installed the software in and finding the EXE file. If the program is not running then you cannot open it using the stealth hotkeys. Start the program and then try the hotkeys. -The program is not running properly at startup. This can happen if you delete the startup registry entry for the program, or if you don't have the proper rights to add the program to the startup list. To verify you can check the key HKEY_[USERS or LOCAL_MACHINE]/Microsoft/Windows/Run/" and look for an entry that points to the program's executable file.

How do I capture keystrokes on an account other than mine? (SPK)
First, make sure you have selected "Run at Windows Startup" and have not selected "This user account only". Next, make sure to check "Start in Stealth Mode" and "Auto-Capture at Start" Next, ensure that the directory listed under "Save Captures In" is a directory that both accounts have Write access to. On XP computers a folder that you create on the C Drive usually has Write access for all accounts. For example: C:\Temporary\Trash\Icons\ Using a discreet name like the one above can help to hide log files, and encrypting them provides even more protection. Be sure to test these settings on the other account to ensure that they are working properly.

I can't send emails to myself (SPK)
If you are having trouble connecting to a mail server you should look up help on the email provider's website for connecting via "POP 3" using Outlook. The instructions for outlook will provide you with the information you need: Severs, ports, authentication methods. Some email providers, especially web based providers, do not allow outside programs to send email through them: they require you to log in through their website in order to send mail. If you are using this type of provider we recommend the following: Do a web search for "free email pop3". This will provide you with a list of free email providers who allow outside programs to send mail through their accounts. You can use a free email provider to send mail to, and then have it automatically forwarded to your other email account.

No screenshots are listed in the screenshot list (SPK)
This indicates that the folder you specified for "Save Captures In" does not exist or does not have Write access. Changing that setting in the options window will resolve the problem. We recommend copying the path you want to save captures in from Windows Explorer.

No log file could be attached (SPK)
If you receive the error "No log file could be attached because the log file does not exist" when running this software it means that the following file could not be created or accessed by default: [save directory]\temp\caplog_saved.txt By default this is: C:\Program Files\[Program name] [Demo/Full]\temp\caplog_saved.txt You can change the location that captures are saved in by editing the path in the "Save Captures In" section of the option menu. This means one of the following is true: 1) You do not have access to create the "temp" folder 2) You do not have access to create files in the temp folder 3) You do not have access to modify an older copy of the caplog_saved.txt file 4) There is an operating system problem that is causing the computer to not recognize the location In all of the above situations, changing the "Save Captures In" location to a folder that you know your account has access to will resolve the problem. We recommend that you create a new folder off the C drive, and it's sub-folders to ensure that you have the proper permissions. If you are unable to create folders you may not have the proper permissions and should do so on an account with admin access. Note: we have tested the software with hidden folders and hiding the folder you are saving captures in does not affect the performance of the software.

How do you hide the name of my Keylogger software? (SPK)
In order to keep your keylogger software as stealthy as possible we will take the following steps to hide it: (For this example, let's assume the program is named Super Duper Awesome Keylogger Demo) We will name the executable SDAKD.exe. Your program will be hidden from the Applications list in the windows Task Manager, and only SDAKD.exe will be displayed in the Processes list. We will name the installer similarly: SDAKD. When installing, you will see "Installing SDAKD" at the top of the installer screen, but the graphics will still say "Super Duper Awesome Keylogger Demo", so there should be no confusion. This will also create an entry called SDAKD in your Add/Remove Programs area. We will set the default install directory to "C:\Program Files\SDAKD" This should help to mask the true name of the software.

The option to disable the encryption for the log file is grayed out (SPK)
You cannot change this option while the program is currently capturing. You may need to stop the current capture before being able to change this option or open a log file.

Program has stopped working, Data Execution Prevention (Errors)
On Windows Vista you may receive the error "[Program Name] has stopped working" when you start a program. This is an indication that Vista's Data Execution Prevention has prevented the program from running. In order to correct this complete the following steps: -Click Start > Control Panel > System -Click Advanced System Settings -Under the Performance area click Settings -Click the Data Execution Prevention tab Either A) -Choose "Turn on DEP for essential windows processes only" or B) -Choose "Turn on DEP for all program except those I select" -Click the "Add" button -Browse to the location that you installed the program in. -Select the program's EXE file -Click OK -Click OK to close the system settings window The program should run properly now. Alternatively, here is an article that describes how to turn off DEP entirely: http://www.realtime-vista.com/administration/2007/04/disabling_data_execution_preve.htm

Runtime Error 339/429 on Vista (Errors)
This error indicates that a file is not correctly installed on your system. In some cases it may be correctly installed for all standard users but not for the "Administrator" account, and you may only see this error when selecting "Run as Administrator". The built in Administrator account is not intended to be used as a user account. It is very secure and will not allow program components to be registered. Instead you should create an account with administrative rights, and use it instead of the built in Administrative account. This will help solve runtime error 339/429 on our software, and lots of other software that you may install in the future. If you do not want to create a standard user account (not recommended) you can follow the instructions below: If the problem started suddenly then a reinstall may fix it. If not, follow the directions below to register each file that is producing the error. You generally will only have to repeat the instructions 3 or 4 times: Click start In the search box type "cmd" without the quotes When CMD.exe appears above the search box right click it and select "Run As Administrator". This will open a command prompt with admin rights. Repeat the following for each file that is causing this error, replacing [filename] with the actual name of the file that is causing problems: -Type "regsvr32 [filename] /u" without the quotes -You will receive a prompt saying the file has been unregistered. Click OK. -Type "regsvr32 [filename]" (shortcut: press your UP ARROW and delete /u) -You will receive a prompt saying the file has been successfully registered. Run the program again. If you receive additional 339/429 errors repeat the steps above for those files. You may have to do this 3 or 4 times.
